About the Film

Freedom Seat Film Poster

The Freedom Seat documentary follows Naresh Kumar's intercontinental tandem bicycle expedition, an 8,646km journey across 13 countries to confront the global crisis of modern slavery. By inviting strangers—many with very little themselves—to join him on the back of his bike, Naresh transformed a feat of physical endurance into a powerful story of collective resistance. The film captures the raw human connections forged along the way, turning a solo mission into a refusal to remain silent.

The film has resonated globally, earning the Audience Award at the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival and selection into the prestigious Kendal Mountain Festival. Beyond documenting intense physical challenges, Freedom Seat moves audiences from empathy toward action. It serves as a stirring call to join the fight, raising vital funds and awareness to support the prevention, rescue, and rehabilitation of trafficking victims worldwide.

"Vulnerability is the key to human connection."
— Naresh
